Make sure you have a Account with Google. Once you set up your Google account make sure that you set up a Google SiteMap. Having a Google account and submitting a sitemap is almost a must when you blogging . A sitemap allows Google to see your site and how often you up date your site. A site map also shows external links and where you are linking too. The sitemap will allow google to index your site, see new content and update the search results based on your site map. There are several ways to generate a site map Blog Training Academy recommends the wordpress plugin called Google XML Sitemaps.

If you have a blog and you are linking out to everyone you are passing your “Google Juice”. The trick is to make sure that you have links pointing to your site with a high PR. (Page Rank)
Having links from authority blogs and websites that are in your same market is another great way to get the word out about your blog. The sites that are linking to you need to have a relatively high pagerank. Any links will do, but the higher the pagerank the better. BlogCatalog.com is the largest blogging community for and by bloggers.

Allowing RSS feeds from your blog is also another great blog marketing tool. You are going to find that when you allow RSS feeds, your blog is going to end up all over the internet with a link back to it and that is a good thing. This is a wonderful way to get links to your blog with little or no effort. People that subscribe to your blog’s RSS feeds are able to then post your blog posts on their sites or blogs. Which in return gives you a link on their site or page that they have you on.

Blogging does not have to be hard. It takes time and a method and with the right guidance and methods you can be a success.
