17 Twitterific Twitter Tools Part 1

By BTA

Blog Training Academy took the time out to review 17 twitterific tools that you might or might not have seen. There are some duds and there are some real gems, just sit back read and discover something new and possibly unique.

TweetValue.com gives you the value for your twitter profile, based on what I am not to sure ?. I am guessing that it works very similar to twitter.grader.com.

Not to sure what the value of TweetValue.com is but I can tell you that it looks cool.

TwitterSnooze is pretty darn cool. TwitterSnooze allows you to put a friend on snooze. Have you ever had someone that you follow that tweets all day long, giving you blow by blow details on a conference they are attending. Well with TweetSnooze you can put them in time out or on snooze for a day or two until they are done with the conference that you don’t care about

Tired of to many tweets, need a better way to filter what you do and don’t see? Want to filter words and phrases from your tweet stream? Well Twalala is the tool for you. As they say it is like twitter with a MUTE button.

On a scale of 1 to 10 Twistory is a 11. Plain and simple twistory imports the history of your blog posts in your calendar program. Twistory provides an iCalendar feed that allows you to view your twitter backlog. You can even keep track of time by starting your tweets with both t or /t and Twistory will keep track of what you’re doing. There is no time lapse.

This one I am going to use. One of the best if not the best mashup I have seen for twitter so far.

Pretty simple, ask a question or find a answer. At the time of this blog post there were 27 unanswered questions. Why can’t you just use your network of twitter friends to answer questions?

Christmas is right around the corner and tweetmas is the place online that you can tell Santa (well the crowdstorm.com gang) what you want for Christmas. From the basic appearance all you do is tweet want you want and they track it. Not to sure WHY this was developed but maybe some caring and loving soul will come and grant your Christmas Wish……… you still believe in Santa right?

Hot Damn!!!! Splitweet allows you to manage multiple twitter accunts at the same time. So for people with a personal account, business account and and a brand to manage you can manage it all with Splitweet. It appears that Splitweet is working on a desktop app…… again this is to cool. Manage multiple accounts and a brand with Splitweet.

Tweetsgiving is a project of Epic Change that seeks to demonstrate the power of twitter and the social web by spreading gratitude and raising $10,000 in 48 hours to build a classroom at the school in Tanzania. (from the tweetsgiving website)

The idea is cool, using the power of social networking and social media to raise money for a worthy cause.

Want to know who to follow? Want to know who the influential people that you should be following? Then ask MrTweet! MrTweet will suggest through DM which people you should be following on twitter. I added MrTweet, waiting to see what he is going to suggest to me.

This service reminds me of search.twitter.com, pretty basic from the looks of it. Put in a term and search for it and tweetag will give you the term and the replies. Cool service, but not to sure if it is anything new or ground breaking.

If you want to auto follow people based on terms then twollow is the way to go. Pick up to 5 terms for free or there is a premium account where you can pick up to 15 terms to monitor then auto follow. When there is a hit on those terms twollow will auto-follow the account that is linked to those tems.

and the SCARY, FREAKY, get a life AWARD goes to TweetStalk. So you want to follow someone on twitter, yet you don’t want them to know that you are following them. From the the TweetStalk website ” Sometimes you want to follow someone on Twitter, but you don’t want them to know you’re following them. We present to you TweetStalk ? the simple way to stalk Twitter users without having to follow them.”

Tweet pay looks promising…. think paypal but for tweeple. At this point they are still in beta and you cannot send actual payments but it is fun to play with. Can’t wait to see what the final functionality will be.

So you are tired of the same ole’ twitter backgrounds and color schemes. Well twitterimage will design your own custom twitter background for FREE if you have over 2000 follwers. If you don’t have 2000 followers the price is $75.00 or $100.00. I do a bit of design work and I feel that this price is fair, their work is good. You can check my page out at @gylonj, I did my own designand it was free!

The dictionary and twitter meet head on to create twittonary. Twittonary is a user supported dictoanry system for twitter. Need to to find out what tweeple are or what does TIA mean or what in the world is a twammer……. all these terms and more can be found on twittonary. This service is cool and will help people that are new to the twitterific world of twitter.

Loved the name of itwote, but not to sure what they do? Maybe something speical oneday.

Want to search by topic and not person, well tweetscribe is perfect for you. TweetScribe is a new service that gives you a twitter feed by topic or search term, instead of by who you know.(from their website).

  1. Great recap of some of the twitter tools out there. I just wanted to let you know about the new service we launched on Friday - BrightKit. Currently, BrightKit has 4 major features:

    1) Manage Multiple Twitter accounts - you can add as many twitter accounts as you like.

    2) Multiple editors per BrightKit account. This was designed with Agencies and Corporations in mind. If you have several people who tweet for a single twitter account, this allows you to give them access to the twitter account without having to give out your twitter password to them all, let editors view what tweets have been sent, as well as which are scheduled (so no double-ups, great transparency) and people can log in to the same profile simultaneously from different places

    3) Analytics. Currently, we have analytics on how many times a link you’ve tweeted has been clicked. We have more analytics in the works that will be rolled out over the next couple of weeks.

    4) Prescheduled tweets.

We’d love it if you checked out our new service and give us your feedback.
